They both seemed genuinely concerned about ensuring our house was looked after as if it was their own and more importantly left us in no doubt about their ability to care for our cat. We must add in here that our cat can be a handful at times, yet this did not seem to faze them a bit. We truly felt that our home was wonderfully looked after and our pet cat cherished while we were away. On our arrival home we were also extremely pleased to find that our home was left in a beautifully clean condition.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Gill and Peter to house sit, and pet sit, for anyone that requires it. We would actually contact them again prior to our next holiday to see if they are close by as we would definitely be pleased if they were able to house sit again for us."

Peter and Gill looked after our Golden Retriever, Toby and home for six weeks. Wow, what a couple. Toby was looked after splendidly (evidence of one happy dog and confirmation from the neighbours). House left impeccably clean, pool maintenance done, minor repairs conducted, garden tended and Peter actually karchered the concrete!!! (We have a lot of concrete).
Peter and Gill kept in touch with us via email and on our return the fridge was stocked with basic supplies, fruit in the fruit bowl and flowers on the table. What more could we wish for.
We could not recommend this wonderful friendly couple more highly. It would be a delight to have Peter and Gill stay again, with or without our presence."

"People have often asked me why I would let strangers into my house for an extended period of time, especially not having met them previously.
The old saying “A stranger is a friend you do not know” comes to mind when I think of Gill and Peter Hosie. Although we hadn’t physically met, I think that the Over-60’s (that’s me!) are good judges of character based on our previous life experiences. It only took a few exchanged emails, and a quick check of their blog, to see that this couple would fit comfortably into our home and meet our requirements.
Nor was I disappointed. Their previous house sits and my holiday plans all seemed to mesh in seamlessly, and I never gave anything at home a second thought whilst my husband and I were away for three months, except to feel a little smug that I had won the Gold Lotto of Housesitters.
Gill and Peter are professional, honest and trustworthy in every aspect of their approach to their duties and responsibilities. They asked merely for a small shelf for provisions and similar cupboard space for their clothing. Everything else in the house remained undisturbed, apart from everyday use of linen and crockery etc and I found just about everything back in its rightful place on my return.
Gill was upfront in asking if they could have friends to visit and I was comfortable with this. She was also able to have a much-needed knee replacement done and the single storey house was helpful with her recovery. This did not prevent her from maintaining the house as I should have done myself.
We have quite a large garden and while they admit to not being gardeners, Peter kept the lawns mowed and trimmed, hedges cut and watering done to the required standard. Our neighbours said he even K’Archered the front path!
Gill is a great communicator and kept me up to date with any small issues that arose before, during and after the sit.
On our return, they brought my car to the airport, then took off for their next sit. Arriving home, I discovered a fully stocked fridge, a vase of flowers, a huge fruit bowl and home-made cake and biscuits.
